Letters from the dorm: I'll be home for Christmas!

Fall Quarter is nearly over, and it's almost too good to be true. One final exam, paper, and project, and I'll be done.
It's that time of the quarter where it's cold, rainy, generally miserable, and the lack of sunlight isn't doing me much good - but I just have to remind myself that salvation is nine days away. I can't wait to get back home to Hong Kong for Christmas.
I always feel that Fall Quarter is the most difficult, because it's hard to get back in the swing of things after three months off school. Plus you have the comforts of home taken away from you (I really miss my mum's cooking).
This is my fourth and final year at university, and while I'd like to think that I'm used to leaving home and taking care of myself, there really is no place like home.
Even though this quarter has been tough, it's much easier to feel on top of things when you remember that a break is right around the corner. And there has been plenty to look forward to - from seeing All Time Low perform in Seattle, to Thanksgiving, to Christmas.
Christmas is my favourite time of year, but Thanksgiving has to be a close second (I do love Lunar New Year, but it's no fun without family). I spent Thanksgiving with my boyfriend and his host family, and I'm still quite proud of the fact that for once I ate more than he did. The picture here does not do the food justice.
We even went Black Friday shopping this year. We didn't pull an all-nighter, since the food coma kicked in, but I still managed to get my Christmas shopping done online.
Studying might be a chore right now, but I'm lucky that I can space it out and write Christmas cards in between chapters. It gets me even more excited for Christmas in Hong Kong! What are you most looking forward to this Christmas?
