If you could design a toy collection for a surprise box series, what would you create? Photo: Shutterstock

This week’s question: “If you could talk to your five-year-old self, what advice would you give them?” To take part, drop us a line via this form by 12pm on Wednesday, April 9.

Chung Yuen-ting, 14, Pui Kiu College: I would fill blind boxes with my past achievements, represented by mini statues. This way, when I unbox the blind box, I can cherish those past achievements again and be happy no matter what figurine I get. It would be a reminder to be grateful and take pride in myself.

Micah Wong, 13, Sha Tin College: I would fill the blind boxes with characters from my newest obsession, Marvel Rivals. It’s a video game with all-star Marvel heroes. The costumes and characters are incredibly well-designed but have not been represented well in toy form – with no action figures, Lego blocks or blind box toys yet.

Ying Lai-yan, 16, PLK Mrs Ma Kam Ming-Cheung Fook Sien College: My blind box toy series would be called “An Embarrassing Failure”. Each blind box would contain a cartoon character figurine that shows my posture and expression when I make a fool of myself in front of others, like falling over for no reason. It will remind us that “failure” is less important than your attitude. Just say, “I don’t care”, and keep being yourself.

Seriously cute: psychologist explains Chiikawa’s popularity among Hong Kong youth

Hayden Mak Wing-him, 16, Lung Kong WFSL Lau Wong Fat Secondary School: I would design a series of iconic automobiles and vehicles from notable films across different genres, such as the DeLorean time machine from Back to the Future and Paul Walker’s Fast and Furious 4 R34 Skyline. Those who enjoy classics will love this collection.

Owen To, 15, Tsuen Wan Public Ho Chuen Yiu Memorial College: I would make history-themed blind boxes with toy dolls of famous historical figures such as Stalin and Karl Marx. It would be an interesting way to encourage people to learn about what these individuals did.

Kathy Ng Cheuk-wing, 13, Pope Paul VI College: I would create a Chiikawa-themed blind box featuring mini characters from the Japanese manga in cute outfits like seasonal costumes or animal attire. Each toy would possess a charming accessory, making collecting them more tempting. The surprise element would keep fans eager to complete their sets and discover new favourites!

Karena Tong Tsz-kiu, 12, St Francis of Assisi’s College: I would create celebrity-themed boxes featuring stars from various pop genres – like K-pop and J-pop – as well as Hollywood icons. Each box would surprise fans with unique shapes, vibrant designs and playful nods to their favourite idols.

Sin Chin-hang, 14, Immaculate Heart of Mary College: I would write letters at random to myself and put them in blind boxes to open after five years. It would be interesting to revisit my innocent thoughts and emotions. Reading these letters would also remind me to cherish those who have supported me throughout my life, keeping their encouragement close to my heart.

Caleb Woo Kok-him, 15, International Christian Quality Music Secondary and Primary School: As a Lego super fan, I would definitely create a series of Lego blind box toys with unique photo frames. This way, I can enjoy the toys and have somewhere to display the beautiful moments I want to remember forever.

Chisom Johnbosco Emedom, 12, CCC Yenching College: I would make it Blue Lock-themed. I would include the Japanese manga’s protagonist, Isagi, and a few more side characters. You might ask, why Blue Lock? It is because I am a football and diehard anime fan.
