Race Seven : (472) - THE HONG KONG CLASSIC CUP - Class 4YO - 1800Meters
Horse No 1 MY WISH (J256) L Ferraris Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 PACKING HERMOD (J277) B Shinn Between the 350 Metres and the 250 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running.
Horse No 3 RUBYLOT (H412) B Avdulla Bumped near the 250 Metres.
B Avdulla was warned in relation to his celebratory gesture passing the winning post which resulted in his mount shifting in, giving ground and hampering JOHANNES BRAHMS.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 DIVANO (J142) T Marquand Jumped awkwardly.
From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 JOHANNES BRAHMS (K014) K Teetan Shortly after the start raced in restricted room to the inside of MICKLEY.
Over-raced in the early stages.
After the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of STUNNING PEACH.
In this incident, JOHANNES BRAHMS made contact with RUBYLOT near the 250 Metres.
Horse No 7 MICKLEY (K082) R Moore Near the 1200 Metres was hampered when taken wider by SKY TRUST.
After the event, R Moore could offer no explanation for the horse's failure to run on in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 NOISY BOY (J536) A Atzeni After the event, A Atzeni stated that he had to make some use of the horse in the early stages to cross and lead the event from a wide barrier.
He added in the Home Straight NOISY BOY failed to respond to his riding and was disappointing.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 9 CAP FERRAT (K021) C Williams After the event, C Williams stated that from a wide barrier he was instructed to hold a forward position.
He said after commencing well he made some use of his mount in the early stages to cross runners to his inside where CAP FERRAT then travelled well in the early and middle stages.
He added that due to the pace of the event being run inside of standard time in the early stages CAP FERRAT did not run on when placed under pressure in the Home Straight.
Trainer K W Lui confirmed the instructions were to hold an on-pace position with cover if it commenced well.
Horse No 11 PACKING ANGEL (J454) J Moreira Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 12 MONDIAL (K206) K C Leung Jumped awkwardly and then was crowded by JOHANNES BRAHMS which shifted in.
Horse No 13 STEPS AHEAD (J263) L Hewitson Near the 250 Metres was directed to the inside of NOISY BOY to continue into clear running.
Horse No 14 SKY TRUST (J161) H Bowman Jumped awkwardly.
Raced keenly in the early stages.
Near the 1200 Metres was shifted to the outside of STUNNING PEACH when awkwardly placed close to that runner's heels.
As a result, SKY TRUST raced wide and without cover thereafter.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported.
Horse No ROMANTIC THOR (K012) H Bowman ROMANTIC THOR, Standby Declared Starter, was withdrawn on 1.3.25 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right hind).
Before being allowed to race again, ROMANTIC THOR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

After a patient ride fourth last from gate eight, Rubylot came with a perfectly timed run down the outside to beat My Wish for a sixth win from 18 starts and third from six starts this term. My Wish found one just too good after hitting the front near the 200m following a one-off trip from midfield. It was a solid effort following a Classic Mile win. Punted late, Johannes Brahms took third with a nice move after making his run third last from gate four and peeling into the open near the 200m. Packing Angel stayed on well for fourth after a rails run from behind midfield. It was an encouraging effort. Steps Ahead ran on steadily along the inside for fifth after a rails run from midfield. It was another honest following a win last start over 1,800m. Stunning Peach made some ground to finish next best after a one-off trip from behind midfield. He's crying out for 2,000m. Plunged late, Packing Hermod didn't seem to get the trip after handing up the lead to Noisy Boy 1,450m out to travel one-out, one-back from gate 13.
