ONE Championship: Hong Kong star Yu Yau-pui back in the ring at ONE Fight Night 29
Poland’s Martyna Kierczynska lies in wait at Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium on March 8

Hong Kong’s Yu Yau-pui is set to return to ONE Championship action in an atomweight clash with Poland’s Martyna Kierczynska at ONE Fight Night 29 on March 8.
The event will be a significant night for women’s Muay Thai, with Allycia Hellen Rodrigues defending her atomweight title against Shir Cohen in the main event.
Both Yu and Kierczynska will be looking to bounce back from their first defeats under the ONE Championship banner, when they face off at Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium.
“I think our fighting styles are quite alike,” Yu said of her coming opponent. “We both keep punching forward, though she throws more kicks in her combination.”
Yu secured a lucrative US$100,000 (HK$777,000) contract after a dominant run, scoring four knockout wins in five fights. Her momentum was halted in August last year when Scottish veteran Amy Pirnie knocked her out in the first round at ONE Fight Night 24 but Yu is now focused on getting back in the ring.

“I didn’t think too much about winning or losing in this fight,” she said. “I’m just so grateful that I still have the opportunity to fight on the big stage and will grab it tightly to perform well.”
