Hong Kong woman, 26, dies after being hit by bus in Tsuen Wan
Bus firm KMB sends condolences to victim’s family, says it will cooperate with police in investigations

A 26-year-old Hong Kong woman has died after being hit by a bus in the New Territories.
Police said they received a report at 8.26am on Friday that she was struck on Kwok Shui Road in Tsuen Wan.
The victim, surnamed Lai, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Yan Chai Hospital, where she was certified dead at 9.06am, the force added.
Franchised bus firm KMB offered its condolences over the woman’s death, saying it was saddened by the incident and would cooperate with police during investigations.
The woman crossed the road from a non-pedestrian area in front of the left side of the route 36 bus at around 8.30am when the vehicle, which was destined for Tsuen Wan West station, was approaching Kwok Shui Road, KMB said.
Although the driver, also surnamed Lai, 42, attempted to dodge the woman by immediately turning the vehicle to the right, he still hit her at the junction of Kwok Shui Road and Fu Uk Road.
