Hong Kong was shrouded in fog on Saturday, as a band of rain and clouds covered the coast of Guangdong province.

The Observatory said the band would gradually thin out over the next couple of days.

But it predicted largely cloudy and rainy weather for next week.

“Winds are expected to be weak over the coastal areas midweek next week. Visibility will be relatively low and the weather will be rather warm during the day,” the forecaster said.

“Under the influence of the upper-air disturbances, there will be a few showers over the coast of southern China in the latter part of next week. There will be thunderstorms over inland areas.”
