The four vehicles – a seven-seater car, a taxi and two trucks – were travelling in the direction of Chai Wan on the expressway when they crashed at around 2pm, police said.

Three of the vehicles began to slow down after spotting a roadworks truck straight ahead near the K Wah Centre in North Point.

Police said the fourth vehicle, one of the trucks, failed to brake in time and collided with the taxi, the seven-seater car and the second truck.

The driver of the first truck, a 35-year-old woman, became trapped in the severely damaged cabin of her vehicle and temporarily lost consciousness.
