A man suspected of being involved in a fatal knife attack on an alleged triad member in an upscale residential area in Hong Kong has been arrested in Thailand and deported back to the city.

The 25-year-old Hong Kong resident was taken to the attack scene in Fo Tan for a case reconstruction at approximately 4pm on Wednesday, a day after local officers escorted him back to the city.

With his face hooded and arms chained, the suspect was seen slashing an effigy provided by police multiple times, using a dummy knife.

A police source revealed that the suspect is a boxing coach and a member of the Sun Yee On triad faction in Kowloon City.

Police stated the man was one of two attackers who arrived in a taxi with a fake license plate near the junction of Lai Wo Lane and Sui Wo Road, next to Sha Tin Junior School on March 16.

When the victim stepped out of his home at around 5.25 pm, a spotter alerted the two knife-wielding attackers, who appeared from behind and slashed him.
