Hong Kong police have arrested a man on suspicion of taking upskirt photos in an MTR station after he tried to flee the scene and knocked over a woman in the process.

According to police, the 52-year-old man was confronted by pedestrians at Yau Ma Tei MTR station who accused him of taking upskirt photos on Monday afternoon.

He attempted to flee and ran up the stairs at exit A1 of the station, where he collided with a middle-aged woman, causing her to fall.

The suspect was eventually subdued by pedestrians and later arrested by police over voyeurism.

The woman who was knocked down, also 52, sustained a head injury and was sent to the nearby Kwong Wah Hospital for treatment.
