The South China Morning Post grabbed a clutch of top honours at the 17th Annual Human Rights Press Awards yesterday.

In the general news section, Simpson Cheung (pictured, right) won a merit for his work covering the July 1 march. Joanna Chiu (pictured) won a merit in the newspaper feature section. The story also garnered a merit award for photographer K. Y. Cheng (pictured, left). Reporter Verna Yu, cartoonist Harry Harrison (pictured, second from left) and photographers Felix Wong and Dickson Lee also received merit awards.
