Last Saturday, the former talent agent celebrated his 44th birthday with a guest list that was so star-studded it could almost rival the Academy Awards. Among those in attendance were Gwyneth Paltrow, Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry, Kate Hudson, Bill and Hillary Clinton and Karlie Kloss and Joshua Kushner. The bash reportedly took place at members club San Vicente Bungalows’ Santa Monica location.

Kives is the co-founder and managing partner of K5 Global. The firm has investments in companies including Elon Musk’s SpaceX and The Boring Company as well as Uber, Coinbase and more, according to Page Six. The Stanford University graduate – who has worked for both Bill and Hillary Clinton – is an adviser to over 20 start-ups and serves as a director on the boards of Yahoo, Shutterfly, 818 Tequila and Sprinter Spirits.

Kives was also identified as convicted criminal Sam Bankman-Fried’s original “in” among the rich and powerful. The New York Times detailed how Kives introduced Bankman-Fried to big names in Hollywood, including Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, Kate Hudson, Bill Clinton, Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen. In exchange, Bankman-Fried invested US$700 million into Kives’ venture-capital firm, according to court records.
