Who is British royal Alexander Ogilvy? An Ivy League alum, he’s been crowned one of the UK’s most eligible bachelors – and is following Prince William and Prince Harry in embracing military service

As the media flocked to capture the state funeral in London in September 2022, many attendees found themselves in the spotlight.

Alexander Ogilvy was one of them. But what do we know about him?

He is the grandson of Princess Alexandra, Queen Elizabeth’s cousin

Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1996, Alexander Ogilvy is the younger child of James Ogilvy, a landscape designer, and Julia Ogilvy, a businesswoman. The 54th in line to the British throne, he is the grandson of Princess Alexandra, the late Queen’s first cousin and a bridesmaid at her wedding in 1947.

Ogilvy attended Merchiston Castle School in Edinburgh, where he served as head boy. After graduating from secondary school, he took a gap year at Scots College in Sydney, Australia, where he coached rugby and mentored students in indigenous education, per Yahoo Lifestyle.

The British royal then headed to the east coast of the United States, where he attended Brown University. At the Ivy League institution in Rhode Island, he studied computer science and economics while captaining the college’s rugby union team.

He dated a Kennedy
