  • TVB veteran Eddie Kwan’s daughter Fabienne was in Miss Hong Kong 2021, while Chingmy Yau and Sham Kar-wai’s daughter Ayla Sham Yuet walked London Fashion Week 2019

It’s not uncommon for children to look up to their parents as role models and some even grow up to follow the same career path. However, being inspired by your successful mum or dad is very different from using that connection to get ahead of the game.

Look at the entertainment industry in Hollywood and you’ll find that it’s dominated by generations of the same family, which leads to the rise of the term “nepotism babies”. It describes the children of celebrities who have followed in their parents’ famous footsteps and enjoyed a boost in the industry thanks to convenient connections.
